  1.                            Installation notes

  4.  Hard Drive Owners:
  5.  
  6.  To install OctaMED Soundstudio onto a hard drive simply copy
  7.  the main contents of this disk into a drawer titled Soundstudio.
  8.  
  9.  However, this will only copy the files required to run the program from
  10.  your HD and if you require the docs ( RexxDocs etc ), the OctaMEDPlayer
  11.  and the archived omed rexx scripts on your HD partition, you will need
  12.  to copy these across manualy from the seperate drawers on the supplied
  13.  diskettes and please do remember to unarch the rexx scripts first.

  15.  The full helpfile ("HELP" drawer on disk 2), must be placed into
  16.  the above main SOUNDSTUDIO drawer and then all you need to do is
  17.  press the "HELP" key whilst the program is running and it will load
  18.  in and display the instructions so carefully authored by Ed Wiles.

  21.  Finaly, please note that the "Soundstudio.config is set to look for
  22.  the helpfiles, ( the one it looks for is titled OctaMED.Guide ), in
  23.  your "Work:" partition and if you copy the prog to a HD named other
  24.  than "Work" you will need to alter this via an editor or prog like
  25.  SID or Dopus and you simply look for a line that says:
  26.  helpfile = "Work:OctaMED_Soundstudio/help/OctaMED.Guide"
  27.  and alter the "Work" part of the line to your partition,  ( ie sys: etc )

  29.  Floppy Users:
  30.  
  31.  Before you do anything else you MUST click on the "Floppy_Fonts" and also
  32.  the "Floppy_Assigns" otherwise none of the files on here  will work.

  34.  ( You will be required to click on "Floppy_Assign" prior to running
  35.    the prog each time you use it, but once the Fonts have been copied
  36.    to your FONTS: disk, you need not click upon this icon anymore. )

  38.  "Floppy_Fonts" will copy the required fonts from this disk onto your
  39.  WB3 or WB2.01 FONTS: disk. There is room as long as you have not
  40.  added anything, but you should only do this on backup copies.

  42.  "Floppy_Assigns" will do all the necessary assigns to run OctaMED
  43.  directly from your floppy drive setup, even if you only have one drive!
  44.  ( please remember that you need to do this prior to running the program )

  47.  If you *still* only have the one WB2.04 disk, you will need to obtain
  48.  the later WB2.01 set of disks to use this script, why?, see above/below.

  50.  Notes:

  52.  If you wish to make use of the notators Compugraphic fonts, you must have
  53.  the _bullet font available on your WB3 or WB2.01 FONTS: disk and you will
  54.  also need to setup your PrinterGFX controls. ( read owners manual )

  56.  ( If you only have WB2.04, you cannot make use of the Compugraphic fonts )

  58.  We take no responsibity for the scripts not working on a particular
  59.  setup, allthough it has been tested with an A1200 and A4000 with
  60.  the supplied WB3 disks and on an A2000 with the supplied WB2.01 Disks.

  63.  May we suggest that as with your WB disks, you make backup copies of
  64.  the supplied OctaMED_Soundstudio disks before you commence using them,
  65.  if they become corrupted and you require fresh copies from RBF Software,
  66.  you will be required to include £5.00 to cover our time and postage etc!

  69.  Finaly:

  71.  Due to space restrictions, the Programers drawer containing all Teijos
  72.  latest files and libraries have had to be removed from these disks.

  74.  However, as it is only a very small minority of users that actualy
  75.  require these, they can be obtained from the Aminet server and it's
  76.  mirrored sites in the dev/src area and also on our world wide web sites

  79.  If you do not have use of a modem, you can send for the source and
  80.  libs player routines disk directly from us by sending £5.00 to cover
